Save the Date: Faculty Meetings

Monday, October 20, 7 p.m. – Community Presbyterian Church – Sanctuary

OR

Tuesday, October 21, 7 p.m. – Eden Westside Baptist Church – Pell City

Choose the day or time that best fits your schedule. Attendance is required as part of membership. If you are providentially hindered from attending, let us know. One excused absence in the year for emergencies only.

We were so excited to see everyone at the August faculty meeting. You may wonder why we make these meetings mandatory for our group. We do have several reasons that include:

  1. We have important information we need to share.
  2. Accountability for you as a faculty member and us as a staff.
  3. An opportunity for us to know you if we are ever asked about your involvement with Crossroads.
  4. An opportunity for you to ask questions in person and talk with staff.

1st Quarter Grades Are Due Tuesday, October 21, 20245

All Quarter 1 grade submissions are due no later than Tuesday, October 21. This is very important for everyone. By this time there will have been 10 weeks to get your first quarter work completed. Typically, a quarter is 8 to 9 weeks, so this is ample time. Once you submit your grades, we have work we do on our end. If there is a valid reason your grades will be late, let us know in the office.  Remember that this is a Crossroads requirement.

Things to remember when submitting grades online:

Pay close attention to what is being asked and answer accordingly. For example, when it asks for Your Name, we are assuming the adult is filling this out, so it is the parent’s name, not the student. Student’s name will be asked for as well.

Remember to select the correct quarter and enter the beginning and ending dates.

When it says to “Choose One”, please select one of the options. “Not Covered This Quarter” is one of the options if you did not cover that subject.

Once you submit, you will receive an email. Open the email and either digitally save or print and file the pdf of your student’s grades. You will need these at the end of the year to fill out the End of Year Forms.

Important Dual Enrollment Information

If you have a student taking Dual Enrollment, you will need to report those grades on your quarterly submission. We understand you will not have a grade when you turn in the first quarter, but you still need to report what course your student is taking. In the comment section on the grade submission report, put the course along with the number. i.e. English 101; Math 112.  Also note that it is a Dual Enrollment course, and that you will give the grade at the end of the semester…either quarter 2 or quarter 4. Then in May/June, when you turn in your End of the Year form, make sure you have the Dual Enrollment course/s listed with the credit earned.

ACT TESTING

If your student takes the ACT test WITH WRITING, please let us know in the office. When the writing portion is taken, the test scores come back MUCH LATER than the normal scoring. We do not know to be looking for it and it is easily missed. If you let us know when they are taking it, then we will be able to keep looking until it comes in.

AP – Advanced Placement Testing | May 2026

Crossroads Christian School will again offer AP testing. If you have a student who wants to take an AP test, contact Karen Cunningham at records@crossroadschristian.us by October 24 and tell her what test(s) you want your student to take. Total cost for each AP test is $145; we are requiring a $45 deposit per test by October 24, 2025. Full payment will be required by April 2, 2026. Checks may be made out to Crossroads Christian School.

This year the testing is digital so your student will have to have a computer/ipad. There will be an app they will install and test questions they answer prior to exam day.  This information is also readily available on the AP College Board site. We will be sending you more details about installing and testing the app well before test day.  We provide testing only – you will need to take care of the classroom learning on your own or through a tutor.  Also, please be aware that we will only be doing standard testing and will not do any accommodations.

Tests will be given at Crossroads Christian School, 825 Oak Blvd, Moody, AL.  Test dates are May 4-8 and May 11-15. Specific dates and times, as well as other helpful information, can be found on the College Board AP site.

If you have any questions, contact Karen Cunningham at records@crossroadschristian.us or 205-640-2174

Meet in the gym at noon for fellowship as we have lunch together. Then we will transition into a time of study and prayer. It is a great time to connect with others, learn and lift each other up in prayer.

CRCS will facilitate the lunch. To do that, we need help. There will be a FB event with the menu and parents will sign up to bring food. That is usually posted the week before each event. We also will need volunteers to help with the set-up, serving of the food, and clean up. If you can volunteer, please contact the office or reply on the FB post when it is created. We can NOT do it without you.

KEY CLUB

We had an amazing start to the 2025-2026 school year with our first meeting! We kicked things off by introducing our officers, exploring the different committees and service opportunities, and playing a fun game to learn the Key Club pledge. It was a great way to get to know each other and get excited about the year ahead.

At our second meeting, we elected Grade Representatives. Congratulations to:

  • 9th Grade: JT Turner
  • 10th Grade: Cody Bonner
  • 11th Grade: Everett Childress
  • 12th Grade: Ella Smith

This month, we participated in “See You at the Pole,” a special time of prayer held before our school. Our chaplain, Layla Jolley, led the session, guiding us as we prayed for our school, teachers, friends, families, and our wider community. It was a meaningful way to come together, support one another, and remember the importance of faith and service in our daily lives. It was a memorable experience that set a positive tone for the rest of the year!

Our next Key Club meeting will be Friday, October 10th. Be sure to mark your calendars! We have a lot happening in October, so you won’t wanna miss it!

Service hours are a huge part of Key Club. They help our club track our impact, demonstrate your involvement, and build leadership skills. Make sure you turn in your hours using the format on the service hour printout to our secretary, William Rea, at:

Office: office@crossroadschristian.us (General Communications)

Records: records@crossroadschristian.us (Records, Grades, Transcripts, etc.)

Accounting: accounting@crossroadschristian.us (Financial)

OFFICE HOURS: Crossroads office has regular office hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 am to 3 pm. Call and leave a message, and we’ll return your phone call. E-mail is always a good way to get in touch with us, almost any time!

TUITION: All Crossroads families will receive a monthly email reminder (through QuickBooks Online) on the last day of each month about next month’s tuition. It is due by the 15th of each month. There is a link through the QuickBooks e-mail to pay tuition from your bank to the Crossroads bank and you can pay for more than one month at a time. School year 2025-26 began on June 1, 2025 for Returning Families. Tuition for New Families who joined over the summer begins in August. You always have the option of paying by cash or check at faculty meetings or in the office. And you can mail checks also. We do not accept credit cards. So don’t wait until the last minute to make that transcript request, and remember we need your up-to-date records before we can do it!

WORK PERMITS: Under the current state law, work permits are no longer required for your teenager. If a 14YO or 15YO is working, he or she must provide an Eligibility to Work form to employers, which can be obtained from the Crossroads office. Students 16 years or older do not need anything from the school. For more information, check the Child Labor Law .

DRIVERS PERMIT and DRIVERS LICENSE: If your student plans to take the driver’s permit or driver’s license test, the student must provide proof of school enrollment.
